How does doc cure document its work?
Every remediated file ships with a compliance report: what changed, which checks ran (including veraPDF PDF/UA-1 validation), and what still needs a human eye. The log is timestamped so your accessibility, procurement, and legal teams review the same evidence. It documents the work — it isn't a legal opinion or a guarantee against complaints or litigation.
What happens to our documents after upload?
Files are encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256). They're stored only as long as your retention setting (default: 7 days, configurable). We do not train any model on your documents. Enterprise plans support full on-prem or VPC-isolated deployment.
Will the AI alt text be accurate enough?
Our alt-text model is tuned to describe charts, schematics, and decorative imagery in the context of the surrounding document. It won't be perfect on every figure — for mission-critical documents, add the human-review pass and a reviewer checks every caption before you ship.
Do you support scanned PDFs?
Yes. The pipeline runs OCR (with layout-preservation) before the tagger, so a scanned image of a 1996 form becomes a tagged, searchable, screen-reader-ready document on the way out.
How is this different from Adobe Acrobat's accessibility checker?
Acrobat's checker tells you what's wrong. doc cure fixes it, automatically, and shows its work. Acrobat is a great validator; we are a remediation engine. Most teams keep Acrobat installed for spot-checks and use doc cure for everything else.
Can we self-host?
Enterprise customers can deploy doc cure inside their own VPC (AWS, GCP, Azure) or fully on-prem. We ship a hardened Helm chart and provide white-glove install support. Scoping conversations: talk to founders.
What languages are supported?
Remediation across major languages including English, Spanish, French, German, Mandarin, Arabic (with RTL handling), Hindi, Portuguese, and Japanese. Document language is auto-detected and embedded as the file's primary language tag.
How does pricing work?
Auditing a PDF is free — no credit card — so you can see exactly where it fails. Remediation runs on credits: one credit per page, from $0.50/page pay-as-you-go, and new accounts start with 10 free credits.
